It was a nostalgic purchase to create a modern-day tribute to Herbie the Love Bug. My son has loved Herbie since he was five years old, and now he has a five-year-old son of his own. We had been searching for a very specific Volkswagen Beetle 1.8T Convertible to recreate those wonderful childhood memories, and Bud Clary had exactly the car we were looking for. Unfortunately, our experience with salesman Michael Caretti was extremely disappointing. We negotiated a purchase price through text messages, and after my written $17,000 offer was accepted, the terms began changing. Multiple different explanations followed, which completely eroded my confidence in the transaction. I have purchased many vehicles over my lifetime, and this was one of the most frustrating negotiations I have experienced. Had this same vehicle been available elsewhere, I would have gladly paid more to buy from a dealership I trusted. What completely changed the outcome was Sales Manager Elman. After speaking with him, his attitude was exactly what I had hoped for from the beginning. He listened, took ownership of the situation, personally assured me that the vehicle had completed its inspection, had been thoroughly detailed, would have a full tank of gas, and that everything would be ready before my son arrived from a long drive to the dealership. Most importantly, he reassigned us to salesman Mike Sylvan. That decision changed everything. Mike Sylvan was professional, courteous, responsive, and made what should have been a joyful, exciting family experience actually become one. He treated my son with kindness and respect, kept everything moving smoothly, and made the delivery process enjoyable. As a mother, I appreciated the excellent communication I received from Mike throughout the remainder of the transaction. The car itself exceeded every expectation. Although it has over 100,000 miles, it honestly looks and drives like a vehicle with a fraction of that mileage. It was beautifully detailed and presented, and my son absolutely loves it. We cannot wait to transform it into our modern-day Herbie tribute and watch his little five-year-old son fall in love with it just as his dad did all those years ago. So my final rating reflects both experiences. Michael Caretti earned the one-star portion of this review. Sales Manager Elman and salesman Mike Sylvan earned the remaining four stars by completely salvaging a transaction that otherwise would have ended with us walking away. Thank you, Elman and Mike, for giving my son the memorable experience he deserved with his dream Beetle.

Tay and Gary made this one of the easiest dealership transactions I've ever had. Tay was an outstanding sales consultant, and Gary was great to work with as well. The process was transparent, low-pressure, and refreshingly free of the typical dealership games. Pricing was excellent, upselling was minimal, and customer service was top-notch. Most importantly, we ended up with the right car for us. Highly recommended.

The Staff here was amazing and Rodney is super personable. Unfortunate we couldn’t come to an agreement on a car but, I appreciate how much they were willing to work on it with me. Great environment!

Due to some unfortunate life events I had to sell my Passat and look at getting into a new vehicle. Mike was absolutely amazing helping my son buy his BMW. From the very first phone call, he was helpful, kind, professional, and had great communication the entire time. As a mom, he is literally a mother’s dream to work with when helping your child through a big purchase like this. The whole process with Mike was smooth from beginning to end, and you can tell he genuinely cares about people, not just making a sale. Fast forward to Tyler in finance he was nice overall, but the experience changed a bit when it came to the warranty sales. I completely understand that part of his job is to sell warranties, but after politely saying “no thank you” multiple times, his response was “Well don’t call us in 2 months asking for a discount on repair costs.” That comment felt rude and unnecessary, and honestly gave me an “ew” feeling afterward. I brought my VW Atlas in for a simple oil change and was overcharged for work that wasn’t even done. Less than 24 hours later, my car was throwing a low oil pressure warning and leaking oil everywhere because the job was not completed properly. That’s not just sloppy, that’s outright negligence that could have destroyed my engine. From there, it only got worse. I had to repeatedly call just to get help, was passed around between staff, and received little to no communication. Promised callbacks never happened, and no one took accountability. Even more concerning, Service Manager Ian Andreassen and General Manager Gary Robinson both ignored my emails and voicemails and, to this day, have not responded. Completely unacceptable from leadership. I was also told my vehicle would be towed the same day due to safety concerns, only to find out later it was left overnight because of their internal mistakes. No follow-up, no confirmation, no regard for my concerns. I still have no explanation for the overcharge and no reassurance about potential engine damage caused by their error. This service department is disorganized, unresponsive, and careless. They turned a basic service into a serious issue and then failed to take any responsibility. Take your vehicle somewhere else unless you want to deal with the same level of incompetence.

Recently bought myself a brand new vehicle over at VW Auburn. It was a smooth experience and I was well taken care of. I feel like I was treated fairly and got the best value for my vehicle and I was able to drive away with something that I really like! No complaints!

We shopped at several dealerships before deciding on Bud Clary. Younus was very patient and showed us several vehicles. After a couple of test drives and some negotiating we got the car we wanted at a great price. Definitely recommend shopping at Bud Clary if you are in the market for a new Volkswagen!

I bought a car a couple of year ago from Bud Clary in Auburn. I recently had some issues with the car that I needed to take the car ( Not a Volkswagen) to another dealership and did not have access to my Warranty information. Jace in the service department was extremely helpful when she pointed me in the right direction of contacting finance, and even took my information to then for me when I was struggling to connect. She was so very kind. When I did not get the information, I follow up with the dealership and connected with Derrick in Finance. He was also extremely kind and helpful. Together we discovered this had gone to the wrong email. Derrick resent the information to me, waiting until I physically received the paperwork I needed before hanging up. I really appreciated the time they took when financially this was not a benefit to them in any way!

Dakota was phenomenal to work with! She was responsive, informative, and helpful throughout my car search and buying process. I would recommend her again in a heartbeat.

Highly recommend checking out Bud Clary Auburn Volkswagen if you are looking for a new VW or a used car. We were care shopping for our 16 yr old son's first car last weekend. After driving from Sumner to Everett, we happened to find what we were looking for 15' before the dealership closed. We talked to a very well spoken young salesman, Christian, who answered all of our questions and we made an appt to meet with us the following morning. He set it aside as requested (with a "VIP" sign on it ;). These people get it - if you don't want a hassle, weird/awkward pressure that makes the whole process suck - go see this group. They are up front, honest, no pressure and great to work with! Thanks to Christian, Jeremy and the finance manager (sorry I can't remember your name), the entire car buying experience was actually great (we have had many car buying experiences that have not been great). We will definitely be back in the future!

I recently purchased my very first car — a 2025 Tiguan SLE — from Bud Clary Volkswagen in Auburn, and the experience was outstanding! Jimmy made the whole process seamless, honest, and stress-free, getting everything wrapped up in under 2 hours. His friendliness and professionalism truly stood out. I had the brake system on my 2016 GTI SE serviced (i.e. all existing brake fluid flushed from the system, replaced with new fluid and the brakes bled). From past experience, I know that it normally takes about two hours to complete, but somehow the guys managed to get it done in a little over an hour. So a gold star for the technicians and staff at Auburn Volkswagen. : )

It started with my husband calling Channig to ask for some information on pricing on any 2022 taos he could send us for insurance purposes to help settle a claim. He was nice enough to do that. A few days later we went to the lot to buy a car. Channing was very helpful, He is very easy to work with. I highly recommend working with Channing if you are in need of buying a car. He is very good at his job. And he does not pressure you.

This place has got way better. In the past the staff was not very friendly and I always felt like I was over paying for services. I recently went in for service on my 2018 Tiquan and it was amazing! Was dealing with Jimmy and Daniel the finance manager along with Michael and all 3 were absolutely fantastic! I was in and out of the dealership in less than 2 hours from test drive to purchase. Jimmy was exceptionally helpful with getting me all the information i requested and going above and beyond with helping me get my old vehicle serviced while i took my new car home. Cannot recommend these gentlemen enough!
